During 2013, MVTec plans to provide the following HALCON maintenance releases:

 

HALCON 10.0.4 is scheduled for Q2/2013, i.e., as usual this final maintenanace release of HALCON 10 will be available approximately one year after the first official release of the succeeding major version HALCON 11.

 

HALCON 11.0.2 is scheduled for Q3/2013.

 

These releases will include several enhancements and fix all currently known bugs. As always, all details will be described in the forthcoming release notes.

 

HALCON 11.0.1  is ready for download

The latest maintenance release 11.0.1 of HALCON 11 has been released on November 30, 2012. This release includes several enhancements such as:

* HALCON now officially supports the operating systems Windows 8 and

  Mac OS X 10.8.

* The bar code has been improved in the following ways:

  - It is now faster and more robust in auto discrimination mode,

  - it can now read slanted codes, and

  - its memory consumption has been reduced.

* The data code reader consumes less memory.

* The procedure to display 3D object models now is able to visualize

  the normal vectors of 3D object models.

* HDevelop supports declarations that control the selection and usage

  of external procedures from within an HDevelop program.

* The OCR Training File Browser offers the possibility to create

  samples from a system font and to create variations for samples.

* HDevelop has been extended with an Inspection window for 3D object

  model variables, which also allows to visualize the 3D object model.

* HDevelop Graphics window provides keyboard shortcuts for various

  actions like switching between the different modes Select, Move,

  Magnify, and Zoom.

* The HALCON Codelet classes have been extended with the new HALCON

  Codelet classes HImageAcquisition and HDisplayControl which provide

  functionality to acquire and display images.

* HALCON has been extended with HDevelop example programs for image

  acquisition interfaces that grab 3D data. These programs show how to

  generate 3D object models from the grabbed 3D data.

* The Solution Guide I (Basics) has been extended with a chapter that

  explains the use of compute devices.

Of course, existing HALCON 11 licenses are also valid for HALCON 11.0.1.
